MSD Features North Tech in Award Winning Video

Last year, North Tech High School was featured in a video produced by MSD titled “MSD: DIL North County Tech”. The video has just been recognized nationally by winning a Telly Award, a sought after honor for producers of non-broadcast videos and local, regional, and cable television commercials.

The video was filmed during a visit from our partners in the MSD Skilled Craft Education Program. The program allows current high school students to hear from and be inspired by those in careers which they may want to pursue. MSD employees often bring over equipment for demonstrations as they mentor students from our skilled trade majors while sharing valuable information about how to prepare for and excel in careers related to their trade.

Jeff Chandler, North Tech’s College and Career counselor and facilitator of the program, said that the generosity of MSD’s mentors is evident because “In addition to skilled demonstrations, human resources soft skills presentations, and mock interviews, they have also been gracious enough to host our students for presentations and tours at their water facility treatment plant.”

Mr. Chandler also noted that Alan Bogan, one of the students in the video, was awarded an MSD scholarship to attend the Environmental Resource Training Center Program through SIUE and is also in a paid internship with the company. Join us in congratulating MSD on their award and applauding their dedication to North Tech students.
