Dress Code/Uniform Requirements

Hello and welcome to Cisco Networking Academy!!

There is some very important information contained in this document, so please read it carefully.

All students are required to wear Cisco Networking Academy shirts at least 4 days/week. If there are no work ethic violations during the week, the students will get Free-dress Fridays when they will not be required to wear their Cisco shirts.

Orders for the shirts will be made at the end of August. Cost is $20/shirt, or 4 for $70, based on current prices. Following is a link to see the shirts and decide which colors you may want. DO NOT ORDER ANY SHIRTS FROM THE WEBSITE! We will be ordering them as a class which will bring the price down from what is listed on the website. Do not panic at the $34.95 price listed. The cost will not be more than was mentioned above and could be less when we take orders in August. These are NOT optional. There will only be one opportunity to order each school year.

Cisco Networking Academy hoodies will also be available for $25-30. More information on the hoodies will be given to the students when school begins in August.

Students are also required to dress professionally once per month, usually on the last Thursday of the month. Remind notices will be sent out before each professional dress day. If a student does not dress professionally on the assigned day, they will lose work ethic points each day until they dress professionally. Following is a link that gives a good idea of what is and is not appropriate professional dress expectations.

Incoming students who have been accepted into the program should receive an invitation to join a Remind group that will allow me to send messages to the class without my knowing the student's cell number. If you have been accepted and do not receive that invitation by mid-June, please email me at jelkins@ssdmo.org. I will also be enrolling those who have been accepted into the Cisco Networking Academy and into the first course, so they can be working on the first few chapters before school begins. While not required, it will be a huge benefit for the students to get through as much of the material as possible this summer. When we cover the material in class in the fall, students who have already read and studied will find it much less difficult.

Finally, keep in mind that we will be preparing students to obtain professional, high paying positions upon graduation and prepare them for college, if they so choose. Student behavior is expected to reflect professionalism on a daily basis. We are hoping to place students into internships and apprenticeships while they are still in high school, so practicing professionalism on a daily basis is required.

Thank you!
